One of the best…no, wait, funnest games in those days was Serious Sam. A totally silly, balls-to-the-wall no-story pure arcade action FPS. No overarching theme (really), just guns and endless waves of insanely bizarre enemies. If you fondly remember the game, read some awesome news after the jump!
If, like me, you thoroughly enjoyed the game but cringe every time you connect the old console with it’s 480p visuals to your shiny, enormous hi-def TV that manages to make anything non-HD look like ass, then you may be glad to know that Croteam are relaunching Serious Sam: The First Encounter (the first half of the Xbox version of the game – it was actually both the first and second encounter munged together) to Xbox Live. And not only that, they have reworked the visuals to something approaching modern standards. Here at dogsounds Towers we can’t wait to get our hands on this little puppy. But we also harbor a deep-seated hope that Croteam have no intention or relaunching Serious Sam 2 because, frankly, that game was just a pile of dog’s bottom-products.
Here’s a nice screenie. You can see more over at Kotaku.com:
